Cancelling In-Person Gatherings

Following the health guidelines from King County and the recommendations of the UCC Conference Minister, we have made the decision to cancel in-person worship on Sunday March 8 and Sunday March 15. This decision was made by Church Council, to respond to the best recommendations from public health, as we work to care for the most vulnerable in our community and outside our walls.

The next two Sundays we will be sharing a streaming worship service through Facebook Live http://facebook.com/FCCBellevue. This week, Pastor Patty along with the worship staff will be leading a service focusing on the Labyrinth over streaming, while Pastor Lisa will be preaching at Bellingham UCC. If you have any questions on how to access the service this Sunday, see the directions below or check in with the church office.

We are recommending that small groups and events between now and March 20 consider canceling, rescheduling, or using technology to gather remotely. If you are a group leader and have questions or would like to discuss options, please reach out to Pastor Lisa or Pastor Patty. If you are a participant in an event during this time period, many thanks for your patience as we finalize plans.

We know just how stressful this time can be, and the loss that it feels to potentially not be able to gather together. At our virtual meeting with Church Council tonight, Martin Paquette said “I didn’t think I’d be giving up church for Lent!” Know that we are not giving up on each other, even when we cannot physically be together. We encourage you to reach out to each other and to help us to brainstorm ways of staying connected when we are not physically present. Wherever we are, we are the church—called by God to show love and courage to an aching world.

Thank you for your understanding, as we seek to care for our congregation and our wider community.
