Stevi grew up in Southern California attending non-denominational and evangelical churches where they developed a love for God, the church, and the scriptures—a love that remained even as their theology began to shift and change when they entered college. They hold a B.A. in philosophy from Point Loma Nazarene University, an M.A. in philosophy from Loyola Marymount University, and an M.Div. from Seattle University. Stevi has worked both as an educator and a minister, most recently at Seattle University as the Campus Minister for Retreats.
Grateful for the ecumenical education and religious experiences they have gained throughout their life, Stevi loves to keep their eyes peeled for the striking similarities and beautiful differences between various expressions of spirituality and religion. Stevi is proud of the way that they have been able to create space for people of all and no religious backgrounds in their ministry, focusing on connection and reflection in order to build spaces of belonging and meaning-making. Central to this hospitality and at the heart of Stevi’s ministry is the radical hope that we can imagine and build a world in which, led by those on the margins, the material and spiritual needs of all are met.
Stevi and their spouse reside in Tacoma where they find time to get outside, read, knit, and cook good food whenever they can.
